A dozen cloth page-edge 'tabs' have been added, with hand-written identification: Judicial (various forms used for arrests); check (cases); U.S. A(rmy) personnel filings; and similar, for fingerprinting process, requisitions, office names & addresses lists, Pooks Hill agents & guards list for the family of Crown Prince Olaf; personnel investigation for White House employees and procedures for WH crank cases (known & unknown), reporting requirements on type of cases and more sections. Laid-in at back: USSS field office procedure for teletype with codes and exchange processes; a National Assoc. of Government Employees insurance plan information card; a request for a Treasury pass for Esther E. McDonald (change of dept., formerly at division of Loans and Currency); note in shorthand; and a Treasury Dept. purchase or stores requisition form to the U.S.S.S., re: suppression of counterfeiting. C. 1941 'Biographical Section' [4] pages, two each with the biographies of Frank J. Wilson, Chief, U.S. Secret Service and Joseph E. Murphy, Asst. Chief. August 4, 1942 cover letter on Treasury Dept. Field Force letterhead; addressed to the Fifth District personnel. Harry Cooper was taking a lt. col. commission with the U.S. Army Provost Marshal General's Dept., being replace by John J. McGrath. C. 1942 [4] page typed report from U.S.S.S. Agent George Dipper to Frank J. Wilson regarding a continuing investigation of the theft of gasoline rationing books: "…the number of books stolen would total approximately two million gallons of gasoline…" and was a huge criminal and sometimes organized enterprise during the war in the U.S. and UK. With a list of stolen book serial numbers, story of the case with leads, books in hidden in Virginia and other cases under scrutiny. July 14, 1942 [3] page typed report signed by Esther E. McDonald to Frank J. Wilson; Miss McDonald had been requested to review the Crime Prevention Program materials in order to ascertain the reaction of a new employee to the materials. Nov. 12 1942; speed typing test taken by Esther E. McDonald; one page; with some pencil calculations. Nov. 16, 1942 [1] typed page, resignation letter of E.E. McDonald signed, who was moving on to a "…position in my home City of Winchester, Virginia."; sent to Frank Wilson, Chief of the U.S.S.S. Materials as described; overall in very good condition.
