F Four manuscript billing statements written on business letterhead, listing dates, purchases and pricing of items, totals carrying forward; from Joseph Beal of Corfu, addressed to customer Count Mercati. Composed in Italian; for various articles & amounts of clothing, fabric, hats. Light blue paper; approx. 8" x 10" size. Some edge, tips wear and soiling, old fold lines; in good condition. At this time, The Ionian Islands were a protectorate of the United Kingdom, via the Treaty of Paris of 5 November 1815, as the United States of the Ionian Islands; Corfu became the seat of the British Lord High Commissioner until the Islands were reunited with Greece in 1864.
