Cleveland and Sandusky Ohio: Hinde & Dauch Paper Co., 1930. F An advertising promotional item consisting of a checkerboard and sheet of checkers manufactured from heavy cardstock, complete; making commercial customers aware of H & D's line of heavy products boxing. "...Made in the H & D shops of H & D fibre boxboard, it is strong and durable, as you see...special board used in the construction of boxes for heavy products..." The checkerboard's squares with pictures showing various uses of the H & D heavy products boxing: for furniture, radios, chinaware, knit goods, leather goods, electrical appliances, drugs, flowers, glassware, canned goods, paints, beverages, proprietary preparations. The 'checkers' are die-cut disks of cardstock stamped in black or red with the H & D logo; they are still in their heavy cardstock sheet-holder and are all present. One reverse panel of the board with a color-printed pastedown giving information regarding the company and this product, made by the "World's largest producer of Corrugated Fibre Shipping Boxes." Not dated and circa 1930. The board opens to approx. 15 1/4" square. Some edgewear, soiling and rubbing to the board and checkers; in good condition. Good Paperback (Item ID: 25542)
