New York, NY: Not Published, 1884. F Handwritten letter, 5 pages, all one sides; dated New York June 28th, 1884; accomplished on lined paper, on the law firm's letterhead. Written to "Dear friend Mrs. Warren...I am very glad you have written thus freely to me and trust that you will in the future continue to do in all our communications whether in writing or by verbal intercourse...as to the repair &c of the premises 12 Sidney Place, at the expense of the Estate...to determine whether or not such a procedure would come within the power of the Executors...Very properly as Mr. Warren considered it for your personal benefit and advantage, he expressly excludes the Executors as such from an control of or interference with those premises during your life..."; signed by the attorney, John S. Woodward. The estate in question had an estimated value of $ 500,000. On the back of the final page of the letter is noted that a copy was sent to Mrs. Margeretta B. Warren; with the mailing envelope for this missive, sent to Mr. Wheelock, who is also mentioned in the letter from these attorneys.
