Burlington, Iowa: Not Published, 1885. F Handwritten letter, one side; dated Burlington Iowa April 4 1885; accomplished on lined paper, embossed "Love's." Written to John S. Woodward Esq., an attorney for the firm of Messrs. Smith & Woodward counselors at law 171 Broadway Benedict Building New York. "...Please include the Ins. policy as an assett in the report. I doubt very much, if it belongs to the Estate, but I will refer the matter to the Court and let court dispose of it. Be kind enough to hurry this matter up..." Approx. 5" x 8" size; with the original mailing envelope postmarked Iowa & with 2 cent pre-paid envelope stamp. On the back is the N.Y.P.O. additional cancellations and the rubber stamp noting that the letter had been received unsealed; and attached is the Post Office Department Officially Sealed perforated stamp, printed at the National Bank Note Company New York.
