New York City, NY: Not Published, 1831. F A letter addressed to Messrs. Thomson & Co., 56 Cherry St. New York dated March 20th 1831 and signed by W.M Crofts of Wright Co. & Geo. O. Simms "...Gents.: Please send 6 barrels Cherry Bounce (such as you can warrant at 42 g) tomorrow morning by 12 o'clock..." Cherry bounce was a brandy-based cordial popular at the time and noted as one of George Washington's favorite alcoholic beverages. Reverse of letter with address for Thomson and an additional name. Approx. 6" x 8" size, ink handwriting, very legible. Some wrinkling, closed edge-tear, old fold lines; in good condition and interesting early 19th century New York City wine and liquor wholesale business history ephemera.
