Inscribed on the front endpaper by the author-artist "For Eileen - almost all of my friends have one - Love, Tony" 'First Printing' stated on copyright page. "Tony Palladino, Designer and Illustrator, was born in 1930 and grew up in East Harlem…The General came to him first as a woodcut; he lived with it a while, found it important, and then wrote the story…" (from the jacket information) approx. 4 3/4" x 6 1/4" size, oblong format. Illustrated dustjacket, over yellow cloth-covered boards. Dustjacket worn, darkened, chipped away at top of spine, splitting along edge. Light wear to the volume, piece of dj adhered to top of spine.
