F 138 pages; a limited edition, this copy out-of-series, not numbered and one of 900 "...sur velin teinte grenu fabrique specialement pour cet ouvrage..."; with forty watercolors and one hundred ten drawings in black and white by the author-artist; French text; Georges Delaw (Henri Georges Deleau) 1871 - 1938 French designer, decorator, illustrator of stage sets and comic productions; volume printed by Lucien de Matteis, Paris, color plates by Jean Saude, enlumineur; approx. 10" x 12 3/4" size; the original illustrated paper wrap covers bound-in to blue cloth-covered boards with the remains of leather strips which originally acted as wrap-around ties, with a 3" x 5 1/2" original watercolor illustration, unsigned and in the manner of Delaw's work in this volume, on vellum tipped-on the front cover; patterned endpapers in silver-gilt and green in a pouring vases & round asymmetrical shapes design; binding very worn, soiled, cover illustration beginning to left at edges, also very darkened; front cover of paper wraps with chip at edge, other chipping of page edges within; paper of text and artworks darkened throughout; binding worn, rubbed as is artwork on front cover; contents in about good condition, colors fairly bright on the plates.
