F 104 pages + 2-page 1909 Stock List at back; black and white illustrated throughout, with images of "...trees which we have moved, and of places most of which were planted with stock from the Westbury Nurseries...Large Norway Maples moved for Mr. Clarence H. Mackey, Roslyn, L.I. We moved about one hundred of these trees on the Hicks Patent Tree Mover in 1901 - 2. They were 12-16 in. in diameter, 30 - 36 ft. high, and 25 - 33 ft. broad. Four rows were planted bordering the entrance avenue and trimmed to symmetrical form..."; often the illustrations reflect the history and methods used for Hicks' tree moving and landscaping efforts, showing equipment and giving sizes and situations encountered on various prominent Long Island estates and properties; approx. 6 3/4" x 10" size; original covers, both back and front bearing tipped-on black and white illustrations relevant to Hicks tree & landscaping work; covers detached; first and last few leaves with darkened discoloration around margins especially; covers soiled, chipped, edge-worn, spine paper mostly chipped away, only about fair condition; contents in good condition and a good photographic record of this famous plant nurseries' business & history at the beginning of the 20th century.
