Keylor (1920 - 1981) publisher, Bowdoin College graduate, USN WWII veteran; and a typed letter from his father details flying adventures of friend John Gorman including running out of fuel in a 65 hp small plane and force-landing at Grafton airport - his father also tells of the U.S. government requirement for many more pilots and encouraging Arthur in his 'position' vis-a-vis the draft and piloting possibilities - another pilot friend, Lieut. L.W. Johnson is in the 1st Bomber Squadron & Keylor is encouraged to write that he "…might be able to give you the lowdown on the flight situation..."; several letters from female friend encourages him to visit her and other friends in NYC, expand his dating and social horizons; these letters lead the reader, through inference, tracing the career of Keylor as he went from summer work and social activities in Vermont to Bowdoin College and on to service in WWII; wear and tear to the original envelopes; letters in very good condition.
