F Souvenir dinner photograph, picturing about 150 well-dressed men in the grand ballroom of the old Garden City Hotel on Long Island, dais with 8 men and their prize trophy-cups; title in the image at bottom right, with the Schlesinger studio imprint on the mount; 11" x 19" approx. size; 13 3/4" x 22" approx. including the cardstock mount; image faded a bit; old 4" closed split to photo, no loss to the image contents; back of mount cardstock reinforced with archival tissue at the split line; dustiness, soiling to the mount cardstock, old stains on back; top right corner chipped away, other corners chipped, soft; in fair to good condition and an interesting photograph of the club members on Long Island in this once-prominent horse & carriage recreation activity; these "driving clubs" were established for the membership to enjoy and promote the recreational practice of carriage driving.
