F Accomplished in a very legible hand and detailing this 1824 land indenture transaction, between William Wiggins & William Henry Wiggins, both of Southold, Suffolk Co. Long Island; concerning a tract or parcel of land "....containing by estimation Sixty acres... bounded Easterly by the land of Jeremiah Brown and Isaac Cleavis running to the bay - Sotherly by the bay - Westerly by the land of David Wiggins, Northerly by the public highway leading to Oysterponds. Also, all that certain tract of Wood Land Situate on Shelter Island containing by estimation fifteen acres, ...bounded North by the Bay, Easterly by the lands of the Widow Sally Dering, South by the land of Purple Jen(n)ings, West by the land of Lodowick Havens. Also all that certain tract of Salt meadow situate in Oysterponds...bounded North by the Creek, East by the heirs of Havens Rackett's Estate Southerly Landis King, West by heirs of Capt. Jonathan Terry's estate...with all and singular the buildings, profits, principles, advantages..."; this evidently a 'fair copy' of the original, as it is signed by Jeremiah Moore of the Commissioners of Acknowledgment and recorded August 23rd 1825; approx. 2 1/2 sides with writing; each page approx. 8" x 12 1/4" size; pages split along old fold lines; paper darkened, little edgewear; in good condition, and a good 19th century example of Southold and Shelter Island land transfer and legal obligation history.
