Girardet, Berthiault imp. and with 3 additional engravings in the text, all dramatically illustrating events; bound in contemporary dark green pebbled hard leather boards, with blind rules, cover with gilt floral wreath surrounding crowned eagle, titled Lycee Imperial de Tours, gilt spine titles and fleur-de-lis ornaments, all edges gilt, white watered silk endpapers; some edge, tips wear and rubbing to binding; front endpaper with a bit of old sealing-wax, paper endpapers and first & last leaves spotty; text otherwise clean and in very good condition; perhaps given as a 'prize book' for a student at this school.
