C. 1920 Cabinet Card Style Photograph of a Turkish Family in Native Garb By Zaza Photo Studio 203 Winter St. Haverhill, Massachusetts

Haverhill Massachusetts: Zaza Photo Studio, 1920. F Black and white cabinet-card style image of a man & woman, three small children, all in Turkish native garb of the earlier part of the 20th century, the man wearing a fez, woman with half-veil; taken with a primitive backdrop and with crude furniture, decoration & furniture, dirt floor - the photograph sealed within a standard 'window' photo-mount of the time, with textured finish, having the studio imprint printed on the front; if not for this studio's location in Massachusetts, the photo could have been taken in Turkey - the image clearly belonging in the mount and found as such; no identification of the subjects, no date and circa 1920s or so, most probably before the fez had been outlawed in 1925; image approx. 4" x 6"; mount 6" x 9"; some edge wear to mount card, may have had hinged covers at one time; the image very good and interesting ethnic ephemeral item taken in the U.S. Very Good Paperback (Item ID: 21496)
