F Standard postal card, one cent imprinted Jefferson postage; pre-addressed to the Committee on Watchers Citizens Union 34 Union Square East New York City; back of card (not filled in) dated 1901 and noting "I am willing to act as a watcher on election day at any District in my Borough to which I may be assigned by the Committee..."; printed black on buff paper; some edge, tips wear and soiling, one side wrinkled & worn more, little corner chip; in good condition and interesting postal history as well as New York City political ephemera; the Citizen's Union, formed in 1897, is actively in existence today, with the same mandate, "...an independent, nonpartisan, civic organization of members who promote good government and advance political reform in the city and state of New York..."
