1970 Typed Letter Signed by Katharine Hepburn - on Her Mother's Letterhead Paper
(Katharine Hepburn)

1970. Dated "VII-2-1970" and stating "Dear Miss Bunyan - I'm glad that you got the check - Thank you for trusting us - Mr. Dolan - her son - was very pleased - Also happy that you enjoyed Coco - (signed) Katharine Hepburn" a very typical bold dark signature; Katharine Hepburn (1907-2003) award-winning American actress; Letter on 'Cranes' watermark paper; approx. 10 3/8" x 7 1/4"; with her mother's name simply printed in small red lettering at top, Katharine Houghton Hepburn; old fold lines; in very good condition. 'Coco' about Coco Chanel, was Katharine Hepburn's only stage musical and was running on Broadway at this time; Robert Emmett Dolan was musical director of the production; our source for this autograph item indicated only that the "Miss Bunyan" referred to reputedly owned or worked at a flower shop and evidently did a favor for Hepburn which was appreciated and gratefully acknowledged. The actress was apparently frugal - she is using the letterhead of her mother, Katharine Martha Houghton Hepburn (1878-1951) women's rights activist and noted suffragist - 20 years after her death. Very Good (Item ID: 20657)
