Paris: Chez Claude Barbin, 1691. 312 pages; text in French; with an pictorial engraved title page and a printed titlel; with a couple of type ornaments, capitals in the text; originally appearing under the title 'Morale Galante, Ou, L'art de bien Aimer in 1669 - an OCLC search at time of cataloging indicated 2 copies institutionally of this edition, both in Europe; the final section of the book a numbered "Reflections Importantes Sur Amour Pour la Conduite des Amans"; approx. 3" x 5 1/4" size; a couple of lines of notes in French on the front endpaper, regarding publication of this and other editions of the book; bound in later 19th century marbled paper covered boards, leather spine and corners, marbled endpapers to match, top edge gilt; both boards detached, spine covering part gone; endpapers rubbed, the front revealing part only of an old bookplate or publisher's announcement under the marbling; contents fairly fresh, one page at back with closed tear, appears to be a printing or paper defect, no loss; clean and a good candidate for a rebinding or for research purposes.
