Handwritten document, for the purpose of attendance as jurors the Circuit Court, and Court of Oyer and Terminer and Jail delivery; giving the full names of the jurors, their town of residence on Long Island and occupation and occasionally, those who may have been excused and the reason; Jurors selected include: (Grand Jurors): George Hunt, Newtown yeoman; John Bennett Jamaica yeoman; Samuel Youngs Oyster Bay yeoman; William Tenby Hempstead butcher; Obadiah Willets, John J. Hewlett both yeomen of Oyster Bay; Daniel Bloodgood Flushing yeoman; John S. Higbie & Daniel Baylie yeomen of Jamaica, 24 names; (Pettit Jurors): Jacob Mott, Lewis Hewlett Oyster Bay yeomen; Morris Suydam Oyster Bay blacksmith; John V. Hewlett Oyster Bay innkeeper; Titus R. Boerum N. Hempstead, merchant; Lucius Kellogg of Oyster Bay, physician; Gilbert Tompkins & Samuel Penfold, yeomen of Newtown; John Monfort Oyster Bay-Cedar Swamp; Platt Willetts of Hempstead, joiner; Aaron Schenck of OYster Bay, 'taylor'(sic); more, 38 men selected; approx. 10 " x 16" size; written in a fairly strong 'court room' hand; some wear, darkening, old fold lines along which is some splitting, couple small holes & staining; still very legible and in good condition, interesting Long Island ephemeral justice, courts & law history item, with the added benefit of providing genealogical and occupational history for the Island.
