1966. Log of approx. 100 pages; handwritten; starting date 7/21/62 and mostly 1966-68 voyages around New England and Long Island Sound waters; details of ship's condition, weather, repairs, equipment overhauls and failures, engine work, boat activities, meetings with other boating enthusiasts, log of details on journeys & activities: (Cuttyhunk) "...Remained all -day went to shore with dogs. Great time. Lots of sailing in dinghy, Met Jim Black & Pat & Judy-Flushing. They came aboard for coffee. Off of Triton. Met crew of Marjan and Chicahidee..." and (Woodshole-Tushmoo) "...James Cagney came in on his ketch "Mary Ann" and tied up to his private dock. Got late to Vineyard Haven."; they meet another sloop named "Manukai" and generally seemed to have a fairly adventuresome time on the boat; in pouch at back is a couple of index cards with "Speed Curve Taken 7-29-64" With new engines, all vacation gear. Top RPM 34/31 at 20 GPH. and with a listing of RPM, GPH, Averages & KTS details below (with) a couple of laminated speed tables & laminated Coast Guard contact information chart, small (blank) receipt from the "Outdoorsman" shop in New Bedford, business cards from Stirling Harbor Shipyard & Marina Greenport, Falmouth Harbor Marina, a handwritten bill from Capt. Henry E. Olsen Adujster of Ships Compasses 173 Rochelle Street City Island, N.Y. for adjusting the Fly Bridge and Cabin compasses, marked 'paid' and a couple of 'deviation' cards from the same gentleman, a pencil-drawn harbor instruction for Nantucket and a (blank) Ship's Radio Log, with however the vessel owner name at front, A. Siesholtz; bound in dark blue-green oblong format hard cloth covers, approx. 8 1/2" x 11"; some edge, tips wear to the boards; good condition and interesting mid-twentieth century New England American small yachting history and ephemera, giving good day-to-day information on running the boat and its trials, tribulations and enjoyments.
