F A portfolio of the brilliant photographic work of Hans Namuth, (1915-1990) German-born photographer specialized in portraiture, photographing many artists as here: Jackson Pollock, Joseph Cornell, Hans Hofmann, Robert Motherwell, Isamu Noguchi, Josef Albers, John Cage, Alexander Calder, Jim Dine, Willem De Kooning, Lee Krasner, Louise Nevelson, Robert Rauschenberg, Larry Rivers, Saul Steinberg, Jean Tinguely, more; in his introductory statement Namuth explains how the connections were made between himself and all the artists whose life he touched and was then uncannily able to portray with sensitivity and depth in his portraits; photos approx. 11" x 14"; with 4-pages of text; in the original printed paper-covered slipcase; a little dark spot on the text, perhaps where a sticker has been removed; some of the images with a little corner-bumping, not obtrusive into the pictures themselves; light wear to the case; in very good condition and a great pictorial record, collated complete, of the features of some of the greatest artists of the 20th century.
