De Poncins, Gontran

New York: Brentano's, 1944. F 322 pages; copy 'v' of ten examples hors commerce, with the author's inscription, in the year of publication on the front endpaper: "A Bernard Lamotte ("Baron du Bocal") Son vieil ami! Gontran de Poncins N.Y. Vevrier 44"; laid-in typed 'erratum' page; here an interesting association between the author and Bernard Lamotte who is humorously identified as the 'Baron du Bocal' because that was where artist Lamotte (1903-1983) had is Paris studio called Le Bocal, where Antoine de Saint-Exupéry wrote Le Petit Prince-Lamotte also illustrated Exupery's 'Flight to Arras'; evidently French explorer-writer and adventurer Gontran de Poncins 'traveled' in the same literary and artistic circles; original paper wrap covers, titles in red and black; a little darkening, wear to covers; volume in very good condition. Very Good Paperback (Item ID: 19166)
