Very well printed black and white portfolio of 13 images of this Estonian artists "Ancient Dwellers" series executed in beautiful mezzotint, with image details on the back giving title and size, other information; followed by a suite of 8 additional plates which give close-up details of the work; accompanied by explanatory text by Ene Asu-Ounas & Ago Kunnap in Russian, Estonian and English; Estonian Artist Kaljo Pollu (b. 1934) and lecturer at the Estonian Academy of Arts recognized as a major influence in making the connection between today's art and the ancient Finno-Ugric traditions of the past; here, ethnographic, biographical and artistic chronological details given; evidently presented by friends to a teacher, as the table of contents is inscribed by several people - notably by Sirje and Leo Normet, evidently of some Estonian musical composition and history fame; plates and text pages loose in stiff illustrated paper overwrap; some edge, tips wear to wraps; contents in very good condition, dramatic and occasionally disturbing Estonian art.
