Martha Crane a Realistic Novel
Gorham, Charles

New York: Popular Library, 1954. 192 pages; the "Popular Library Edition" of this novel concerning a young woman's "...desperate journey down the road of pleasure and degradation..."; it has been entirely disbound and carefully & professionally glued page by page to a scroll of plain paper which is in turn wrapped around a metal reel, evidently to be used in a reader of some sort; at least 2 copies had to be disbound in order to create the 'reel,' since one side is always covered; contained in a plain cardstock box, made for the item, with the paperback cover art as end-of-box illustration; some edge, tips wear to box; pages a bit darkened as to be expected from paperbacks of this era, nevertheless preserved very well as it has been 'laid-down'; last sheet with a few tears, no loss, from the metal band holding-clip; very good condition an interesting 20th century publishing history item. Very Good (Item ID: 19012)
