Edinburgh; with the surreal 'flying eye' bookplate of Vincent Starrett on the front endpaper, and his signature on the edge of the half-title page; (Charles) Vincent (Emerson) Starrett (1886-1974) Canadian-born American writer and journalist, an authority on Sherlock Holmes, writer of novels, poetry, short stories, a bibliography of Stephen Crane. (Benet); bound in medium green cloth binding, gilt spine titles & rules, top edge gilt, old silk marker ribbon; some edge, tips wear to cloth, bookplate removed from front endpaper, old sticker residue on back endpaper, unobtrusive remains visible; one short closed tear on one leaf; in good condition.
