Egypt: C.& G. Zagaki Brothers Photographers, Two good photographs of this famous Egyptian riverside, of archaeological and historical Near East interest; one with a few nude males bathing in the cataracts themselves; with the photographer's title, name & # 159 & # 166 at bottom of image; no date and circa 1880; C. & G. Zagaki Brothers were Greeks who were active photographers in the Near East circa 1870s-1880s, photographing all over the area offering a large selection of commercial images. (ref. Perez, "Focus East: Early Photography in the Near East 1839-1885); Occasionally their name is viewed as "Langaki" and have also been deemed of Cypriot nationality; images 8 1/4" x 10 1/2" approximate size; cardstock mount adds about 1" border surrounding; photo mounted on original buff white cardstock mount; a little wear to the mount card, foxing, bending to board; images in very good condition and interesting.
