The dates are taken from a copy annotated by the poet's wife..."; Charles Kingsley (1819-1875) author, married Fanny Grenfell, joined with Maurice and his friends in their attempt at Christian socialism, 1848, lecturer on English literature at Queen's College London, one of the Queen's chaplains in the ordinary, Profesor of modern history at Cambridge, published 'Water Babies' perhaps his most famous work 1863, enthusiast for natural history, a believer in the possibility of reconciliation of religion and science.
