Paris: F One hand colored plate, probably from one of the volumes of scientific and historical researches conducted during the French Expedtion to Egypt carried out under Napoleon in the 18th century "Descriptions de L'Egypte"; Seven different images on the plate, six of which are composed by H.J. Redoute and one by Jollois et Devilliers, Colibert accomplishing the engravings; 17" x 27" approximate size, backed to linen at some point for strengthening; subtitled "1.- 6. Peintures Du 5c Tombeau Des Rois A L'Est. 7. Bas- Relief De L'Entree du Meme Tombeau."; very well-executed, wonderful coloration, delineation by Redoute giving an almost three-dimensional effect to the images; some edge, tips wear and darkening, a few closed edge tears, none into the images, a few discoloration spots and foxing at edges, one image with a dot of ink or discolor at top; overall, good condition.
