A somewhat hauntingly-depicted scene, very skillfully accomplished by this artist; the impression given, especially considering the date of the 1930s, is of the 'coldness' or severity of the title- theme; the dark figure, faceless, pondering a severe architectural facade, a feeling of hopelessness and a lack of warmth to an appeal to the courts of law; image size approximately 5" x 3 1/2", black ink impression on good quality paper; this piece is numbered 8 of 10, titled "Justice" in pencil in the lower margin of the image; signed in the block 'Dane' and additionally handwritten 'Dane' at the same area in lower left; dated 1/16/33 in lower right of block; no other information on the artist; exhibiting remarkable talent; some edgewear to frames' finish; a great image; in very good condition.
