The table of contents is at the back; also included in the pagination are (6) advertisement pages, including a leaf printed with a title of the Academy of Jesus-Marie and an illustration of the school, in lavender ink; this is followed by a half-page of information on it, "...an institution for the education of young ladies..." The contents give a history of the region: Gulf Ports Steamers, Father Loftus, Gaspe; Douglastown; the Micmacs; Peter Basket; Harrington Cove; Mont Joli; Shipwreck of Sir Hovenden Walker's Squadron on Egg Island; Halifax; Prince Edward Island; also a section giving a 'tour' of "The Round Trip to Murray Bay - Cacouna - Tadousac - Chicoutimi and intervening Places." The final section on steam-traveling the islands of the Lower St. Lawrence, scenery, islands, various stops; and the Cruise of the Dolphin on the Quebec Station. Front endpaper with the owner name-stamps of collector George R. Brush M.D., U.S. Navy; in service as a surgeon & medical inspector, from 1861-1894, and with his small number-ticket. Approx. 6" x 8 3/4" size; bound in the original decoratively gilt-titled orange cloth covered boards; gilt spine titles. Some edge, tips wear to the cloth; spine covering chipped at top 1"; cloth coloring faintly mottled a little; contents clean and in very good condition.
