Robert Gosset Woodthorpe (1844 - 1898) English military officer and amateur artist, writing of this British Indian Army expedition to the Lushai, in north-eastern India. The present Indian state of Mizoram was called the Lushai Hills or Lushai District and was defined as an excluded area during the British Raj. Approx. 6" x 9" size; original publishers' decoratively blindstamped & gilt titled red-plum cloth covers. Some edge, tips wear & rubbing to the binding; spine cloth scraped, sunned some; contents clean and in very good condition.
