A bearer-note or bond, printed in blue; issued by the City and dated 1815; signed in black ink at bottom right, the name, signed with flourishing first letters, is not quite legible. With a partially damaged shield-form decoration at center top and the printers name of T. & W. Mercer (?) 98 Gold-St. at the left margin. Approx. 2" x 4 1/4" size; reverse is blank. With much wear, soiling, darkening, tears and losses; only in fair minus condition overall and an interesting piece of early 19th century New York City monetary history ephemera.
