(6) + 24 + vi pages appendix + 34 +vii + (7) pages. Two separate publications by Hedges, published ten years apart. Included after the (first) appendix is a folding sheet approximately 29 1/2" x 19," being a facsimile of an "Agreement…" between Aaron Woolworth, Minister and the membership of the parish of Bridgehampton contracting their employment of him. The appendix contains good genealogical and historical information, including A Record of the Soldiers and Sailors, Who served in the war of the Rebellion, buried, born in, or enlisted from Bridge-Hampton, (being Election District No. 2,) Town of Southampton, Suffolk Co., N.Y. The second publication, the address given in 1886, is a similar Historical Address and its appendix contains a genealogically interesting list of Officers of the Church, Officers & Teachers of the Sabbath School, the resident communicants and societies for Christian Service. Hedges was a respected town historian, speaking and writing regularly and extensively on towns in Suffolk County, Long Island. Previous owner name in pencil on the front endpaper, dated 1910. Approx.6" x 9" size; original publisher's purplish-blue cloth binding, gilt cover titles and decorative blind-stamping. Some edge, tips wear to cloth; a few stray pencil marks in the text; otherwise clean and in very good condition.
