New York, NY: Not Published, 1882. F. Handwritten letter dated Feb. 13th, 1882 on Theo.W. Morris company letterhead, acknowledging payment of a debt:"...We cannot but express our pleasure, for your sake more than our own, at this phenomenal experience. It is so unusual that we hardly know how to refer to it, and trust that you may reap the firm benefit of your honorable and exceptional course ...." signed Theo. W.Morris. Approx. 5 3/4" x 9" size; (with) (2) checks affixed at side edges, made to the McAnerney & Co. and to Morris Co. (with) a printed sheet dated in ms. 1878. This is a notice regarding the insolvency of John McAnerney and Henry St. George Offutt, the firm of John McAnerney & Co. and its assignment to Bentley D. Hassell for the benefit of the creditors, of which the Morris Co. was one. Witnessed by Theo. W. Morris Co. with a small red seal. Old paper tape residue at sides; light wear to all; in very good condition; interesting 19th century business and banking history ephemera. Item #26435
