Two volumes; 255 + 266 pages; color, black and white illustrations, some folding, showing Japanese swords and sword-making techniques, blacksmithing, various sword furniture, tsuba, sheaths, decorative work, portraits of famous makers; text entirely in Japanese; part of a larger set; these are volumes numbered 6 & 7; approximately 7 1/4" x 10 1/2" size; bound in light gray cloth, gilt cover titles, with blindstamped design of swordsmith at anvil; black spine titles; purple silk page-markers; a little wear and ageing to the cloth, faint old discoloration on one, unobtrusive; contents clean and bound very well, in very good condition and a good reference to the ancient techniques & craft of sword-making in Japan.
