F. 19 (of 24 as according to the printed list) photographs, matte finish on heavy photo paper stock, of women of Bretonne with various ancient hat styles, many of the lace or lace-trimmed variety, in various shapes and styles; the women's costume also visible, depending on the length of the portrait; no date, circa 1910; photos are approximately 2 3/8" x 3 1/2", clear and good overall; no photographer or studio, wrapper with LL and ND identifiers; original red illustrated stiff paper overwraps, each section separated at folds; one photo with surface abrasion; all others very good condition; interesting fashion and hat design history, with the ethnic usage in this particular area of France.
