1982 Typed Letter Signed By Italian Architectural Author Bruno Zevi

Rome Italy: 1982. With content noting that some poetry had been sent, comment on a friend's recent art opening - and the most interesting paragraph concerning a "...permesso business to be decided, but have marshalled support in case of trouble. The appeal has been lodged and will be heard some time next year. Speriamo bene. This time I have got all the evidence together (including good testimonials from Graham Greene and from one of the top Jesuits)..."; also with mention of a book on Thailand nearing completion and exchange of personal news; Italian self-wrap "Aerogramme" paper; addressed to Prof. Frances Keene and signed by the author with his characteristic 'Z' scribble; the addressee, Prof. Frances Keene, may have had an association with Zevi through the OSS in WWII - Frances Keene (1914-1997) was a writer, translator and educator who specialized in the Romance languages and during World War II, she worked with the Office of War Information - while Bruno Zevi (1918-2000) the extremely influential Italian architect, historian, professor, curator, author and editor was involved with the anti-Fascist Jewish community in Italy; some wear and rubbing to paper, outside soiled, old tape residue from closure; overall, good condition and with interesting content worthy of further research.
