C. 1960 "Tall Drinks and Short Snorts" Rough Rider Room Hotel Roosevelt, New York Die-Cut Drinks Menu

New York: Hotel Roosevelt. Menu die-cut in the shape of a beef cattle skin, with appropriate markings on the outside cover in dark reddish-brown & cream; illustration on front of an idealized Rough Rider poised at horse's neck cavalry saber sword forward; on back is the notice that (at this time) the hotel was part of the Hilton chain (no longer); list of drinks and cocktails, whiskies, cordials, sherries, ports, Beers-ale-stouts, non-alcoholic beverages; a large variety, well over 100 items to choose and drink; cocktails range from the Rough Rider Special (Lemon juice - vodka - sloe gin - Apricot Brandy) to the waters of Poland; prices from an alcoholically blissful past, the R.R. cocktail coming in at .80, a Chivas 12 yr old .95, Hennessy .85 (pony); you could purchase 'charged minerals' with your drinks, along with an Apollinaris or Kalak Water to wash it down; there are some interesting mixed "Tall Drinks" here that we have not read of (or sampled): Caribbean Glacier, Moscow Mule; menu of items surrounded by dancing bottles of various shapes, with each accompanied by an international variety of toasts; menu cover coated in liquid-resistant plastic; approx. 8 1/2" x 11" size; light wear and soiling; in very good condition, an interesting menu; the hotel is still extant in New York City's midtown.
