C. 18th Century 2 Ceramic Fragments from Baiting Hollow Long Island Evidently from an Archaeological Search There in 1978

Baiting Hollow Long Island. Two interesting tiny fragments; in the original finders' manila pouch; handwriting identifies them on the pouch as "Baiting Hol. Sch. May 6, 1978 Sur. Col. Roadway Near Shed 2 Ceramic Frag." and in a different hand in pencil, "114.3 - 1 ceramic - (1) blue marble"; a plate or bowl fragment, approx. 1" x 1/2", with blue dec. glazing; and a fragment of a 'marble' about 1/4 of the original, about 1/2" diameter, decorated in a deeper blue glazing; some wear and chipping, as expected per the 'found' aspect of these tiny pieces; still very good condition and interesting archaeological finds from Long Island's north shore towards the East End; previous owner 'find' designations inked on backs of the pieces.
