London: A. & C. Black Ltd, 1933. F. 78 pages; with black and white illustrations throughout; on the front free endpaper is an original pen & ink wash drawing by Ned Carnall warmly signed and with a presentation inscription to artist Emily Barto- "to Emily Barto believing she will enjoy this happy association of poet and artist from her friend Ned Carnall New York Feb. 24 1946"; the art depicts an artist at easel and his woman model, both dressed in an 18th century mode and well-accopmplished; we speculate that Cornall and Barto may have been working on a literary or art project together, since Barto was a well-known children's book illustrator originally from Greenport, New York, (1896-1968) painter, illustrator, craftsperson, writer, designer, National Academy member. (WWW in American Art 1999); bound in original dark red cloth covered boards, with a darkened, chipped and soiled dustjacket lacking its spine & price clipped; some edge, tips wear and rubbing to boards, fading to cloth; contents in very in good condition and especially nice for this included original illustration.
