Typed single page, on the Institute letterhead; dated December 12, 1927 and addressed to James H. Post (1859 - 1938) American sugar refining financier, philanthropist, and civic leader who directed an industrial empire in sugar; Pratt was congratulating Post on receiving an award for his civic philanthropy. With a carbon copy of Post's letter of thanks for the recognition. (with) Another typed letter signed by Pratt to Post, dated May 14, 1934, thanking Post for sending copies of an article on the borough of Brooklyn that Post had written. Frederic B. Pratt (1865 - 1945) credited with his good management of the Institute in his 44 years as President; he was also, like his colleague Post, a noted advocate for the civic affairs of the Borough of Brooklyn Approx. 8 1/2" x 11"; paper darkened some, old fold lines; in very good condition.
