The Singer Mfg. Co. released these advertising promotions in variously-numbered sets; this is a set of 18, collated complete, in its original slipcase-pocket. Each card is finely color-chromolithographed, with a scene in which a sewing machine is in use by operators, usually accompanied by family or other cohorts; on the reverse is the explanatory text, giving geographical, political and ethnographic information on the particular place & people in the image. Including: Lerwick; Bulgaria; Archangel; Greece; Caroline Islands; Albania; Appenzell; Londonderry; Georgia; Vaud; Wales; Cyrene; Turkestan; Boulogne-Sur-Mer; Wurtemburg; Normandy; Edinburgh and Tiflis. Each card with the copyright date of 1894 and printed by J.Ollmann Lith. Co. N.Y. Previous owner name in pencil on the slipcase-cover. Cards approx. 3 1/8" x 5 1/4" size; slipcase slightly larger. Case with much wear and discoloring; about good overall. All the cards are in very good condition.
