The markers commemorate friendship, love, family names, remembrance, holiday greetings, inspirational virtue and biblical religious themes. A few are noted as foreign examples - France, Scotland. Some examples make use of beaded or other raised construction. Provenance: Notes in pencil accompany many of the pieces, identifying and dating them as well as providing purchase and acquisition information. Several were found via the books of family members and are dated by the compiler using that family members' known chronology. A group of bookmarks were acquired in Windsor, Vermont.
