(also illustrated, underway before the Manhanset house property) and the Long Island Railroad; original illustrated printed paper wrap covers; with an oval tipped-on black and white illustration of the Manhanset House; elaborate lettering in green and gilt; 5 1/4" x 8 1/2" size; old pen calculations on cover in a contemporary hand; soiling & discoloration, still good; contents in very good condition and interesting, detailed information especially via the illustrations of the amenities at this early 20th-century resort on Shelter Island; the main building burned to the ground in 1910.

A snappy-looking simple electric vehicle design in fine pen and ink and hand-colored in blue, yellow and heightened in white; chain-driven, steering 'bar' instead of wheel, open top, plush interior visible; side and front views; bottom third of drawing with pencil details of parts; approx. 13" x 18 1/2" size; on 'onionskin' engineering linen-paper; old fold lines; some rubbing-away of surface at bottom, corners, fold lines; fraying towards edges; still in good condition, colors bright and very well-accomplished; not signed or credited and with good provenance, from the family of the founder of the Ward M.V. Co., which specialized in electric vehicles and eventually trucks, in the first part of the 20th century; interesting automotive ephemeral material & electric car history.

A company overview and catalog, 47 pages; black and white illustrated throughout; history of Kimball, manufacturing musical instruments in Chicago for years; extolling quality, tonal design, testimonial quotes from 'outstanding organists' - users around the country; at this time, the company could reveal that they had "...built over four thousand pipe organs, installed all over the world...designed by the Kimball staff in consultation with the purchaser and his advisers to suit the acoustical conditions of the church and the purpose it serves..."; with c. 25 pages of illustrations of their products visible in the interior, or exterior views of: St. Bernadette's R.C. Church, Brooklyn; Hollywood Presb. California; First Church of Christ Scientist Oak Park, & that in Cambridge Mass; Congregation B'nai B'rith Los Angeles; St. Paul's Cathedral Pittsburgh; St. John's Cathedral Denver (this one double-page, with specifications of the organ as well); Thorne Hall at Northwestern; Municipal Auditoriums at Minneapolis, in Worcester Mass, Memphis, Union Medical College in Peiping(sic) China, and many more mentioned, with details of construction and use of all these; the rest of the catalog describing the quality of the Kimball-Welte Reproducing Organ, self-contained and pipe organs, the company line of pianos; descriptions of the factory & offices, console organs, illustrations of factory techniques and testing of products; catalog quality-printed on glossy stock, in black and deep orange type and ornamentation; approx. 9 1/4" x 12 1/2" size; metal 'coil' binding (little rust at back inner leaf), illustrated stiff blue paper covers, matching endpapers; some edgewear, closed tears to binding, bit of color-fade, very good overall; (with) laid-in Wicks company 4-fold illustrated brochure for their 'Fuga' organ (circa 1930s also) and several typed pages which list organ stop information - the organ of Leipzig, another list of ranks for a 'miniature baroque organ' and others, and a page of 'repertoire' listing various organ pieces - this group of paper with some relevant pencil notes and information; contents of Kimball catalog in very good condition as are the ephemeral items; interesting keyboard musical instrument history and especially for the illustrations and background of some of the particularly large & famous organ installations of the Kimball Company -  both the Kimball and Wicks (only very recently) co.'s had given up the manufacturing of organs in this country, after enjoying much popularity and long-term brand recognition in their fields.

15 pages; especially interesting for the fold-out "Chart of Montauk Yacht Harbor (by) Montauk Beach Development Corp...." provided at the back and with a perforation for easy detaching (still wholly integral here), approx. 15 1/2" x 23", black and white, noted as submitted, approved and dated 6/7/3, revised after a 1929 plan - with an inset map showing the location of this 'development' in the larger Montauk landscape. The chart shows future commercial basin & boat houses, polo fields, the Montauk Island Club, yacht basin on Star Island, a future channel running right around the inner coastline of Lake Montauk and other details. This development project was the final real estate resort scheme of Carl Graham Fisher (1874-1939) American automotive & real estate entrepreneur, who had previously developed Miami Beach and used the funds to try and establish a similar resort in the north, in Montauk Long Island - "...In 1925, Fisher purchased the entire peninsula of Montauk…to develop as a grand resort. Much of what makes up today's Montauk - it's roads, churches, downtown village, harbor area, golf course, and dozens of commercial buildings and homes, were built by Fisher during a whirlwind of development from 1926 - 32. If it weren't for his considerable vision and investment, Montauk would be a far different place today…his impact profound..." (ref.
