John Taylor Arms (1887 - 1953) American architectural etcher, "...almost entirely self-taught...(and) one of the leading etchers of his day…an eloquent and indefatigable evangelist for his art. He developed an extraordinary form of lecture-demonstration, in which he delivered a stentorian discourse on the history, methods, and aesthetics of etching, all the while drawing ambidextrously, demonstrating every stage of the etching process from sketch to pulled proof.
