Well-taken photograph of ships in the harbor in Genoa; a full broadside look at the Stromboli; albumen process; of German photographer Alfred Noack (Dresden 1833 - Genoa 1895); our research indicates that Stromboli was a protected cruiser, laid-down in 1886 and sold in 1907 and was of the Etna class; crew visible on deck, small boats in harbor approach; about 8" x 10" size; laid down onto new matte board; no date but circa 1890; photograph & studio identifiers at bottom of image, with number 6979; couple of old creases, do not detract from fairly sharp and detailed image; very good condition and interesting Italian nautical & photographic history.
