Depicting the ossuary beneath this Rome church; the bones of the monks artfully arranged and displayed, skull decorations, standing, robed forms; an interesting, if macabre display; no photographer or studio indicated however our research indicates Alinari, c. 1880 period; image approx. 8" x 10", tipped-on to cardstock mount approx. 11" x 14" overall; some fading to image; little chip to bottom margin of photo, no loss to photographic image; mount with wear, dustiness and darkening, rippling to card; in good overall condition.

Sixteen images, including: Lambeth Palace London No. 1747 (with the sidewheel steamer Prince Arthur at dockside, loading passengers), West Front Westminster Abbey No. 3586 both 5 1/4" x 8" and by G.W.W. - George Washington Wilson (1823-1893) One of the early royal photographers and the photographer whose images were first sold in Cabinet size. By the 1880s his was one of the largest photographic publishers in the world. (Robert Leggat, 1999); London Bridge No. B10, Westminster Abbey No. 11, both by L. S. & P. Co., 5 1/4" x 7 3/4", the London Stereographic and Photographic Co.; No. 3512 West Abbey Jerusalem Chamber, No. 3252 Houses of Parliament, No. 725 Royal Academy, No. 3264 Albert Hall, all F.G.O.S., 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"; No. 89 Westminster Abbey Chapel & Shrine of Edward the Confessor and No. 96 Westminster Abbey Tomb of Henry 7th, both with Frith's Series blindstamp, 5 3/4" x 8 1/4"; and St. Paul's Cathedral, the Chapel in the Tower of London, Crown Jewels of England, and two others, unidentified and also with no studio indicated, similar sizes to the preceding; not dated, circa 1880; some wear and wrinkling to photographic paper, not mounted and do not ever appear to have been; in good plus condition overall and an interesting photographic group.

3 images by this noted photographer, whose work has been recently featured in a forthcoming Harvard University Peabody Museum press book including her work," Human Documents - Eight Photographers" Compiled by Robert Gardner; 3 circus-themed images in black and white; approx. 11" x 14" size; one of which is mounted on board and with the studio stamp of the photographer on the back, along with some penciled notations; the other two photographs with no back information or stamps, and evidently of the same series - the mounted image of the same tight-rope walker as in one of the unmounted photographs; no date and circa 1960s; some wear to edges, corner wrinkling; nevertheless, in very good condition, dramatic and energy-filled imagery by this noted anthropological photographer.
