1925 Pathe Newsreel of the Inauguration of Calvin Coolidge as President of the United States
(Calvin Coolidge)

New Jersey: Pathe Film, 1925. F Film in 35mm; with the Pathe Exchange Inc. markings on the edge of the film; pre-sound film, visual only; We infer from the following information that our film differs from the British version of the filming of the inauguration by Pathe since by this time, Pathe U.S. had been sold: "... Created by Pathe Freres of France in 1908, this form of film (the newsreel) was a staple of the typical movie fare in North American, British, and Commonwealth venues that was shown in theaters prior to the feature film. In the United States, beginning in 1914, (with) the company's film production studios in New Jersey... In 1923, Pathé sold its United States motion picture production arm which a few years later came under the control of Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr. who made it part of RKO Pictures. In 1927 they sold their British studios to Eastman Kodak while maintaining the theater and distribution arm..."; (online reference on the history of the company Pathe); film appears to be flexible on the reel, not brittle or decaying; no telltale 'vinegar' acetic acid odor, perhaps because it has been well-ventilated, not stored in metal film canister; in very good condition and interesting U.S. Presidential ephemeral material and especially for the presidency of Calvin Coolidge (1872-1933) thirtieth president of the United States.
