Long Island New York: Group of 9 documents, receipts written for goods bought from or services rendered for the estate of Abraham Remsen, probably of the same family whose scion of the same name was a colonel in Newtown LI during the American Revolution; including: 1876 Brookville to Edward Tappen "...for 42 days work of my son Charles..."; 1876 Brookville James Lavanta for "services rendered from April 1 and to be rendered to Dec. 1..."; 1876 Glen Head George Simeson & George Downing, delivery of manure; 1877 East Norwich, Bought of Downing & McKay "Choice Brands of Family Flour" on their billhead; 1876 also Glen Head George Downing, many loads of manure, delivered through the summer of that year; 1876 Spring Hill from John R. Duryea writing 'Mr. Loda' regarding a note that is still outstanding and due with interest from the estate, and attaching the original loan paper signed by Abraham Remsen, and the payoff notation on back - loan was for $ 130.00 originally, at 7 percent; 1877 Brookville to George H. Simonson, for 12 bushels of seed wheat; 1877 on F.B. Jackson, dealer in General Merchandise "...Superior Soda Crackers, A trial will prove them Better Than All Others." billhead, for various oil, sugar, "mackerel" and 1879 Brookville to the School District of Oyster Bay, for payment of school tax, George Simonson collector; various sizes, average about 4" x 8" size, some smaller, some larger; some light wear, darkening, old fold lines; in very good condition, interesting Long Island ephemeral estate law history items & some detail on daily life & business for a prominent and old Long Island New York family.
