A travel or pocket edition, printed in two volumes; a separate title page for the "Psalms of David" and another title page for the "Translations and Paraphrases, in Verse, of Several Passages of Sacred Scripture..." both with 1819 copyright dates and both printed twice, found at the backs of Volumes I & II; printed double-column throughout; with the previous ownership names of Walter Titus Avery October 7th 1820 on the front endpaper, and a short notation written in pencil on another of the blank endpapers stating "No. 68 Pew in Universalist Church S.E. Cor. of Duane and Augusta Street Rev. Edw. Mitchell"; also on front endpaper of Vol II is a faint pencil portrait of what appears to be a gentleman in early 19th century garb, rather well done in a slightly humorous vein; original black leather binding, with 'wrap-around' leather cover tongue and loop system for closure; all edges gilt; marbled endpapers; small gilt volume numbers on spine; leather very worn and a bit chipped, edges of spine splitting and one volumes 'tongue'; presentable; contents in good condition overall; a good pocket-size two-volume early nineteenth Century bible.
