Document from the court of Justice of the Peace for Queens County Solomon Wooden; requiring that two black men, named Thomas Hicks and Isaac Hicks owe money to the State of New York and (Thomas) must appear regarding (Touching) "...a bastard Male Child by him said to have been begotten upon the body of Margarett Willis a black Woman and shall not depart the Court without leave..."; approx. 8" x 7 3/4" size; light wear, old fold lines; very good condition and interesting Queens, Long Island historical ephemera, African American related, in the very earliest part of the nineteenth century.
